Diver Operated Trenching Systems (DOTS) may be used to complete shore to shore projects.
The system is capable of burial of cable and pipeline burial down to 30 MSW.
Water, under pressure, is sprayed through several nozzles on hinged swords. By pressing the swords into the bottom it causes the bottom to fluidise, and a trench can be made into which the object can be installed.
